Eoin Weldon

Eoin Weldon is a senior communications professional with almost 20 years’ experience in the industry. He began his career in journalism before moving into political communications in Ireland. Following that Eoin worked in-house with a number of large multinational companies across healthcare, FMCG and telecommunications. He then worked for a PR agency providing strategic communications counsel to a number of large multinational pharma companies. Eoin has been with Merck for five years and is the Head of Communications for Merck Life Science in the UK and Ireland. Merck is a vibrant science and technology company which impacts life and health with science for millions of customers and patients worldwide.

He leads Merck’s communication team in the region providing both internal and external strategic communications support for senior leaders in the region.  He has led a number of high-profile and successful campaigns for Merck in the region and his areas of expertise include media relations, internal communications, crisis management, issues management and public affairs.
